BlackBerry Curve 8520 Philippine Launch

Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM)launched the BlackBerry® Curve™8520 smartphone in the Philippines at the Quezon B Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. GregoryWade, Regional Vice President of RIM Asia Pacific, gavean overview of RIM’s history and progress into 2009, and discussed the featuresand applications of the slim and stylish handset.

The highlight of the event wasa product demonstration in the form of a game where five contestants, allmembers of the local media, experienced using the features and applications ofthe BlackBerry Curve 8520 first-hand. Competition was fierce, but soon enough,tech writer JC Pulido III emerged the winner and took home a brand-newBlackBerry Curve 8520 device.

The new addition to theBlackBerry Curve smartphones series is scheduled to be available from GlobeTelecom and Smart Communications atthe end of September.
